Electrical service interruption for Saturday, July 21

Service interruption: Beach Museum of Art and President's Residence

Interruption date: Saturday, July 21

Time: 5-9 a.m. — to last approximately four hours

What does this affect: Everything that uses electricity. Please be sure to turn off or unplug sensitive electrical equipment and computers. 

Reason for the interruption: Contractor to work in the 12.5kv hight voltage switch in preparation to install new power cables inside existing electrical conduits. Plus, core drill into the existing high voltage electrical manhole in preparation to install new electrical power cable to Danforth and All Faiths Chapel. 

 

Service interruption: Umberger Hall and Dykstra Hall

Interruption date: Saturday, July 21

Time: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. — to last approximately 8 hours

What does this affect: Everything that uses electricity. Please be sure to turn off or unplug sensitive electrical equipment and computers. 

Reason for the interruption: Contractor to install new transformer to make the final 12.5kv electrical connection to the building. Dykstra will be affected to allow the electrical contractor to disconnect Umberger from the old 4,160v cable connection originating from Dykstra.

 

Service interruption: Throckmorton Hall, Gen. Richard B. Myers Hall and Ion Lab

Time: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. — to last approximately 12 hours

What does this affect: Everything that uses electricity. Please be sure to turn off or unplug sensitive electrical equipment and computers. 

Reason for the interruption: Contractor to make initial cable pulls into the 12.5kv electrical manholes from the Throckmorton primary switch then into the new transformer at Military Science.
