Kids can cook with chef at Union Station

Submitted by Mary C. White

Union Station by JP's welcomes kids ages 5-14 to sign up for a fun-filled evening of cooking with Chef Kate Sinnard. Cooking will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Mondays, beginning July 16 until mid-December.

Each child will be required to wear pants and closed-toe shoes, and have their hair tied back. They will be provided with a chef hat and apron. The children will work hand-in-hand with Chef Kate to prepare a fresh, handmade meal for their family — no knives involved!

Meal selection will be determined by the children's demonstrated ability in the kitchen. The event costs $30 and includes the meal prepared, kid's drink and a shareable dessert. The meal feeds up to two children — both can participate in cooking — and two adults. A full food and beverage menu is available for additional purchases or guests.

Up to 10 children can participate each Monday, so reserve your spot today by calling the gastropub at 785-532-1114. Spots must be reserved by 2 p.m. the Sunday prior to the event. We hope to see you there.
