Study abroad faculty leader orientation dates set for fall 2012
Dates have been set for the fall 2012 mandatory faculty leader orientation.
Wednesday, Sept. 12: 3-5 p.m.
- Location: 304 Fairchild Hall, OIP Conference Room
- RSVP by Sept. 10
Thursday, Oct. 18: 3-5 p.m.
- Location: 304 Fairchild Hall, OIP Conference Room
- RSVP by Oct. 16
Two years ago, the K-State office of international programs implemented a policy that requires all faculty members who lead group study abroad programs to attend a short faculty leader orientation. The purpose of this orientation is to discuss important topics such as students' physical and mental health, behavioral problems, legal/liability issues, accommodating students with disabilities, participant selection criteria, developing an emergency response plan, etc.
The orientation will be offered each semester. For those faculty members who have already attended the orientation, you are not required to attend again. Attendance is required only once for faculty who have not attended an orientation and plan to lead future faculty-led study abroad programs.
