K-State offering athletic performance testing

Submitted by Travis Haug

The kinesiology department, L.I.F.E. Program and Functional Intensity Training Lab will offer athletes in eighth grade and up the opportunity to participate in scientific fitness testing on Saturday, April 7.

Athletes will be able to compare their results to other population norms and track their own progress should they want to retest at later dates. This will help local athletes better understand their strengths and areas to improve.

Testing will take place from 8 a.m. to noon in 4 Natatorium. A retest will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 2, in 4 Natatorium.

The following tests will be administered using the latest technology: Vertec vertical jump system, which is used at the NFL combine; electronic timing gates; stadiometer; and Tanita body composition scale.

Athlete entry is $30 per individual or $20 per group of more than 25 athletes. Contact crlarson@k-state.edu for more information or to register your athlete.
