K-State Strengths Week 2018: #DiscoverStrengths

Submitted by Myranda Bower

K-State's CliftonStrenghts for Students will have its annual Strengths Week from March 5 to March 9. Each day will feature a new event highlighting different audiences across campus and what CliftonStrengths can do for them.

The following is a schedule of events:

On Monday, March 5, join CliftonStrengths for Students from noon to 4 p.m. in the K-State Student Union for a Strengths Carnival. The carnival will feature, games, goodies and the chance to pick up your Strengths passport. Your Strengths passport will give you the ability to go across campus during the week to get signatures from Strengths champions and advocates. At the end of the week, if you bring your signed passports to the wrap-up event, you will be entered into a drawing for a prize for each name you have on your passport.

On Tuesday, March 6, the Gallup Student Leader Event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Chamber in the K-State Student Union. This event is focused on showing student leaders across campus how CliftonStrengths for Students can positively influence and change their clubs and organizations. The keynote speaker will be Tom Matson, an executive coach, author and leadership expert. Please RSVP to strengths@k-state.edu by March 2 to secure a seat at this event.

On Wednesday, March 7, the Graduate School Mixer will be from 4-5 p.m. in the Davis Theater. Any and all graduate students who would like to learn more about Strengths and how it can help your academic career here at K-State are invited to the event.

On Thursday, March 8, the inaugural "Strengths in Action: MyStrengthStories Brought to Life" will be from 7-9 p.m. in Town Hall at the Leadership Studies Building. Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in this TED-style event featuring speakers who will share their story of how CliftonStrengths has influenced their way of living, working, learning and being. Refreshments will be provided and the event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are requested.

Finally, on Friday, March 9, the Strengths Week Wrap-Up will be from 3-4 p.m. in the Davis Theater. Everyone who has participated in any of the before-mentioned events is invited to come and show your Strengths passport so you can be entered into the drawing. We also will be honoring all of our campus partners as this event.

Make sure you follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram at @KStateStrengths to see updates and follow along with the events as they happen.
