Piano professor tours Europe

Slawomir Dobrzanski, associate professor of music and chair of keyboard studies, gave solo piano recitals in Italy, France and Slovakia and taught masterclasses at the Bratislava Conservatory in May and June.

In northern Italy, Dobrzanski performed at a festival organized by Il Circolo Didattico Musicale "Ferruccio Busoni" on May 20. His recital took place at the palace of Empress Marie-Louise, wife of Emperor Napoleon I Bonaparte, in Reggia di Colorno near Parma.

In France, Dobrzanski concertized at l'Eglise Saint-Merry, just steps away from the famed Notre Dame Cathedral in the heart of Paris on May 27.

In Bratislava, historic capital city of the picturesque nation of Slovakia, Dobrzanski played a recital sponsored by Slovak National Radio on June 4. This recital will subequently be broadcast via radio all over Slovakia. 

Dobrzanski's recitals featured solo piano music by celebrated composers Haydn, Chopin, Gottschalk and Prokofiev.

While in Bratislava, Dobrzanski also taught master classes at the Bratislava Conservatory of Music and visited the birthplace of famous pianist-composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
