2017 Clery Act crime disclosure survey distributed to campus security authorities

K-State is dedicated to helping all members of the K-State community have a positive educational experience and is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment. As part of that commitment, K-State adheres to the requirements outlined in the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, also known as the Clery Act.
This federal law applies to most public and private universities, and is tied directly to federal funding of various kinds, including federal student aid. For this and other reasons it is imperative that K-State and individuals associated with the university comply with the conditions set forth by the Clery Act.
K-State continues to sponsor various initiatives to increase awareness, educate and provide resources relating to individual and university obligations under the Clery Act. One such condition applies directly to thousands of faculty and staff across all four K-State campuses: the solicitation of alleged crime information from campus security authorities, or CSAs. Keeping K-State safe and in compliance with federal law depends on the commitment and cooperation of every university community member, but especially CSAs.
The annual crime disclosure survey for the 2017 calendar year was distributed via email to CSAs on Jan. 1. Individuals will have until Feb. 2 to disclose any crime alleged to have occurred during the 2017 calendar year that was not previously reported to a university reporting stakeholder.
