Kansas State University Saxophone Quartet awarded first place

By Anna Marie Wytko

The Kansas State University Saxophone Quartet, under the direction of Anna Marie Wytko, associate professor of saxophone, won first place in the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Chamber Music Competition.

The competition was at Emporia State University, where the K-State Saxophone Quartet competed against other wind chamber ensembles from universities throughout the state of Kansas. The ensemble will move forward as the collegiate representative for the state of Kansas in the West Central Division of the Competition in January 2018 in Iowa City.
