Community conversation on race reconciliation

Submitted by Kerry Priest

Join the Staley School of Leadership Studies and Dow Center for Multicultural and Community Studies for a Community Dialogue on Race Reconciliation from 7-9:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in the Utopia Gymnasium at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2900 Kimball Ave.

The dialogue will focus on discussing community perspectives regarding the status of race relations in Manhattan. The program format will be an open public forum; including a diverse community panel, small group discussion, and a social networking component.

Race reconciliation is a commitment to build cross-cultural relationships that result in peace, unity and understanding. With the current social and political climate, it is imperative to facilitate peaceful and inclusive discussions for promoting race reconciliation.

We are excited to have a dynamic and diverse group of small group facilitators joining us for this event.

Additional sponsors of the event are Bethel AME Church, First Congregational UCC and the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee.
