Submitted by Communications and Marketing

Want to learn more about how to get involved in undergraduate research at Kansas State University? Then get ready for SPARK Week, Oct. 2-6. SPARK stands for Students Promoting the Advancement of Research at K-State.

Sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry, SPARK Week is a campuswide celebration and promotion of the opportunities for undergraduate research and creative inquiry at K-State. Daily events will be offered, designed to raise awareness of opportunities and provide resources for students and faculty who are involved or looking to get involved in undergraduate research and creative inquiry.

Events, open to all students, faculty and staff, include coffee and conversation by a distinguished K-State faculty member, Don Saucier, on how and why he involves students in research; an undergraduate research and poster informational fair; talks by undergraduates who are involved in research; and the Spark Tank, where students can present their research idea to a panel of judges and have the chance to win a $1,000 grant from the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry.
