Don't miss the 2017 Benefits Fair on Oct. 5

Submitted by Human Capital Services - Benefits

The 2017 benefits fair will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5 in the K-State Student Union. The fair highlights benefits and resources available to all benefit-eligible employees to support their health and well-being.

October also is open enrollment for health insurance. Katie Banker, a State Employee Health Plan representative, will present the new health insurance plans available for 2018 and will be available to answer questions regarding open enrollment. Two identical presentations will take place at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the K-State Student Union's Forum Hall. The 9 a.m. session will be live-streamed on the Human Capital Services open enrollment website. The live stream will not be recorded; it will be available only during the live presentation.

Informational session regarding HealthQuest; health savings accounts, or HSAs; and health reimbursement accounts, or HRAs, will be offered at noon in Forum Hall. This would be a great session to attend if you are considering enrolling in a plan that allows you to choose an HSA or HRA with the plan.

While attending the Benefits Fair, make time to attend one of the wellness chats in the Union Ballroom. Wellness chat schedule:

• 10:30 a.m. Chair Yoga — learn tips and ideas of relaxing or energizing at your desk through some simple yoga moves.

• 11 a.m. Shopping Overhaul: Grocery Store Tour — virtual grocery store tour – how to make healthy choices, save money and more.

11:30 a.m. Balancing Your Life — explore the eight aspects of wellness and the importance for overall life balance.

1 p.m. De-Stress for Success — learn about the consequences of too much stress on the human body and explore proven de-stress techniques.

Come visit with Human Capital Services, your benefit vendors, and learn more about what benefits you have available as an employee of Kansas State University.
