John Floros, dean of the College of Agriculture, has named Randall Phebus as the interim director of the K-State Food Science Institute, effective July 3.

Phebus will lead the institute's departmental programs with the Manhattan, Olathe and Global campuses, focusing on undergraduate and graduate food science education, and research and outreach efforts across the food science discipline.

The Food Science Institute was founded in 2001 to provide a home to the diverse interdisciplinary elements of the K-State food science degree program, which includes faculty from five colleges and 11 departments across the university.
