Hip-hop classes with legendary guest artist Dena Rizzo will be offered Feb. 5-9 for all K-State students, faculty and staff. Rizzo has become one of America's supreme names in the dance world.

Open classes are in the Nichols Hall dance studios at the following times:

  • 2-4 p.m. Sunday Feb. 5.
  • 8:05-920 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, and Wednesday, Feb. 8.
  • 8:05-9 20 a.m., 9:30-10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, and Thursday, Feb. 9.

Rizzo has worked with MTV and VH-1 and has produced four of her own instructional hip hop videos. She also travels the country educating students in the art of hip hop and breakdancing.

Rizzo was a featured dancer in the movie "Black Knight" with Martin Lawrence, and has worked with industry giants such as Wade Robeson, Dave Scott, Brian Friedman, Geo Hubela, Paula Abdul and many other choreographers. Her work can be seen in music videos, commercials, theatre productions and was even featured in Dance Spirit magazine.

Rizzo's goal is to educate students in the true art form and culture that surrounds hip hop.
