Online learning symposium Oct. 21

Colleague 2 Colleague will meet for its fall 2011 symposium Friday, Oct. 21, at the K-State Alumni Center. The theme for this free one-day conference is "E-Learning: Mobility, Innovation & Challenges" and is open to everyone working in e-learning.

The event includes the following presentations and more:

  • Pecha Kucha: Cloud-based Tools for Educators — Larry Carver, Meg McGranaghan, Julie Rorabaugh, Keith Kreiger, Ben Ward, Vincent Miller, and Jonathan Bacon
  • Practical Strategies for Incorporating Simple Game Components in Online Courses — Joel Lundstrom
  • Mobile App Show and Tell — Rob Gibson
  • Going Mobile at FHSU — Dennis King
  • E-Textbooks:  Lessons Learned from a Pilot in 3 Fully Online Courses — Carine Ullom and Karen Ludwig
  • Gaming Global Public Health: Where in the World is...Dr. Salus 'Dynamica' Mundi? — Brent A. Anders, Zach Caby, Mary Werick, and Shalin Hai-Jew

For an updated schedule, visit the main event site. Registration is limited to 100 participants. Interested individuals need a free membership in Colleague 2 Colleague before registering at the event website.

Colleague 2 Colleague is a collaborative community of online learning professionals throughout Kansas and Missouri. The organization hosts a fall and spring symposium, and the Summer Institute on Distance Learning and Instructional Technology every August.   

Discounted parking is available for those from off-campus. To get the $4 special-event day rate, registered participants may contact Shalin Hai-Jew for parking information and to get on the discounted parking list; the deadline is Monday, Oct. 17.
