Advance voting offered at K-State Student Union

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

The K-State Student Union is hosting an advance voting booth until Nov. 7. The voting booth is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Bluemont Room. It will close at noon on Monday, Nov. 7.

"I selected the Union as a voting location because it encourages students to participate in presidential elections," said Riley County Clerk Rich Vargo. "The on-campus booth makes it more convenient for young adults to vote."

The location is open to any registered voter in Riley County. People do not have to be associated with Kansas State University to vote at the Union, according to Vargo.

Voters must bring identification. The most common forms of identification are a driver's license or a student ID card, Vargo said. Other options include nondriver identification cards, passports and military IDs.

"I would encourage students to visit the Riley County website to view a sample ballot before voting so they are aware of everything on the ballot, as it is very long this year," Vargo said. "Also, I would like to remind young people that they are welcome to vote on as many or as few of the races as they would like."

Advance voting also is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the Riley County Office Building, 110 Courthouse Plaza in downtown Manhattan. Advance voting at the Riley County Office Building will close at noon Nov. 7.

Riley County also offers an Application for Advance Voting Ballot, which voters may print and return by mail, email or fax. The county will then mail a ballot to the voter, who returns the ballot in a provided envelope. The county website also provides an option for students to apply for advanced voting in their home counties in Kansas.
