Submitted by Annie Jewell

Student Governing Association, the Office of Governmental Relations and the K-State Alumni Association invite you to hear Gen. Richard B. Myers, interim president of Kansas State University, speak on the topic of civic engagement and the importance of being engaged in the political process. The event will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in the K-State Alumni Association Ballroom.

This event is open to the public.

Civic engagement and public service are critical topics for higher education and Kansas State University specifically, as it is a public, land-grant university.

Myers, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will provide his perspective on the current issues surrounding our state and federal governments and will discuss the importance of civic engagement. A Q-and-A will follow the presentation.
