Submitted by David Wetzel

David L. Wetzel and Mark Boatwright in the grain science and industry and biochemistry ad molecular biophysics departments, respectively, have developed an advanced technique for chemical imaging.

Boatwright and Wetzel recently made presentations at the 43rd annual meeting of the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies. The oral presentation was titled "Quantitative Near Infrared Chemical Imaging of Solid Mixtures Enables Unit Process Mass Balance for Flour Milling."

A poster presentation, "Focal Plane Array Chemical Imaging of Heterogeneous Organic Mixtures Enables Direct Quantitative Analysis" also was contributed.
