Human Capital Services reviews new overtime regulations
The U.S. Department of Labor updated overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act on May 18.
The Division of Human Capital Services is working with the Kansas Department of Administration to review the changes to the regulations and evaluate the steps necessary to maintain compliance with the changes in the act rules.
The biggest change, effective Dec. 1, will be the salary threshold for being in an exempt position will be raised from $455 a week — $23,660.00 annually — to $913 a week — $47,476.00 annually. Human Capital Services is preparing an interim analysis of the positions and job families most likely to be affected.
