Volunteer for electronic waste recycling event in Manhattan

Submitted by Kelly Greene

Volunteers are needed for the fifth Electronic Waste Collection Day, March 26, in the parking lot west of Memorial Stadium. Volunteers are needed in two-hour blocks from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch and beverages will be provided.

Last year we collected more than 23,000 pounds of electronic waste in just four hours. We need your help this year for another successful event.

Volunteers may choose from the following work stations:

  • Greeters will welcome participants, provide direction on how to proceed and thank participants as they leave.
  • Traffic control volunteers will direct participants traffic through the queue, into the unloading area and through the exit.
  • Handlers will unload and package electronic waste. Handlers must be able to lift 20 pounds.

To volunteer, contact Kelly Greene at 785-532-5396 or at klp@k-state.edu.
