Reminder: K-State Leadership Seminar early registration deadline is March 9

Submitted by Debbie Hagenmaier

"Overcoming Leaderstress: Leading from Where You Are" is the focus of the 20th annual K-State Leadership Seminar on March 23 in the K-State Student Union. This year's program addresses important issues affecting everyone in the workplace: managing stress and achieving work-life balance.

The "Leading from Where You Are" part of the seminar theme reflects the belief that leadership is an activity, not a position, and that everyone encounters daily leadership opportunities and can benefit from attending the seminar.

Keynote and workshop presenters will share engaging, effective and hands-on strategies for recognizing and managing stress in the workplace.

Keynote presentations:

  • Tim Hatfield, professor and chair emeritus, counselor education, Winona State University, will share ways to successfully manage stress while remaining your true self in his presentation "Managing Leaderstress Your Way."
  • JoAnne Owens-Nauslar, fitness expert and "past president of almost everything," will focus on tying together meaningful movement, brain development and leadership skills in her presentation "Fit to Lead."
  • Our luncheon presenter, Frank Tracz, will share stories and effective strategies for managing stress in his roles as professor of music and director of bands at K-State.

Register by March 9 to receive the $95 early rate. Discounted registration is available for teams of three or more individuals from the same department.

Visit the seminar website to register and for detailed seminar information.

The mission of the K-State Leadership Seminar is to enhance the leadership skills and capacities of the K-State community and communities throughout Kansas.
