Encourage students to explore their options at Majors, Minors and More

Submitted by Jared Meitler

The 2015 Majors, Minors and More will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.

Representatives from academic colleges, departments and student services will be available to speak with students about academic majors, minors, certificate programs, secondary majors and the career alternatives associated with each. Two primary goals for this event:

• To provide students with easy access to information about K-State academic programs.
• To provide departments an opportunity to initiate discussions with students who are exploring options for academic majors and careers.

More than 70 percent of every entering freshman class will either postpone declaring a major, change their declared major, or leave K-State prior to their junior year. This event will provide information to students who are exploring academic options, as well as encourage the retention of students.

Approximately 900 students attended the Majors, Minors and More Fair in 2014 and this year we anticipate another great event. We ask that you encourage students to attend.

Majors, Minors and More is sponsored by the Academic and Career Information Center, the Arts and Sciences Open Option Program, Housing and Dining Services, and the academic colleges of Kansas State University. We appreciate your support!
