Register now for first-generation seminar

By Chris Sorensen

Teaching Success with 1st Gen Students is a learning event for K-State faculty, staff and administrators from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Alumni Center. Register now.

As a first-generation student myself, I highly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity on the Manhattan campus.

Lee Ward, director of career and academic planning at James Madison University, will be leading the event. Ward also was a first-generation student and is the author of "First Generation College Students: Understanding and Improving the Experience from Recruitment to Commencement."

Check out the Teaching & Learning website for more information.
