Kansas State Testing Center moves to new location

By Valentina Burton

The K-State Testing Center has moved to its new location at the KSU Foundation Center on Anderson Avenue.

The Office of Testing Programs and Services continues to provide access to exams for undergraduate and graduate admissions such as ACT, SAT, GMAT, MAT and the PCAT; students' and staff's certification; and pre-licensure and licensure exams including ACE Personal Trainer, Business and Finance, Information Technology, and the Teacher licensure series, or PRAXIS.

The center offers credit by exam opportunities through the CLEP and DSST credit exam programs. Students and staff also can complete one of three English Testing Service language exams toward completing their language proficiency requirements for school or the workplace. These exams are the TOEFL iBT, the ETS TOEIC or the ETS TOEIC Speaking and Writing.

The center also offers proctoring services for anyone possessing a valid state or government identification, who may be enrolled in non-K-State distance course or other off campus training and assessment evaluations program.

The business operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Testing services are conducted from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Saturday hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Currently all services are offered by appointment only.

On-campus staff and students with a current K-State ID can use ATA bus transportation from main campus to the testing center. Free point to point transportation is available from KSU Foundation, K-State Student Union and Edwards Hall.

Along with the main testing center at the KSU Foundation Center, K-State students also can receive proctoring services at two other locations on K-State's Manhattan campus. The Student Access Center on campus, 202 Holton Hall, provides a testing lab for K-State students who require nonstandard testing accommodations. The Student Access Center is responsible for ensuring that equal access to all aspects of campus life is available to students with disabilities. Equal access to testing is an important aspect of campus life and the center plays an integral part in providing that access by implementing the accommodations specified in a student's letter of accommodation when testing at the Student Access Center's testing lab. Staff collaborate with students and faculty to coordinate the specifics of each exam which include date, time and required accommodations.

Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. All exams are administered within business hours.

Also offering proctoring services to K-State students taking online K-State courses, the K-State Global Campus testing lab at 1615 Anderson Ave., Door C, is available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and until 7 p.m. Thursdays. Students enrolled in K-State distance courses also can receive assistance with locating a proctor or testing center in the United States or abroad.
