Police make arrest in pedestrian hit-and-run accident case

At around 3 p.m. Sept. 18, the Kansas State University Police Department arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run injury accident on Sept. 11 involving a pedestrian.

The driver, identified as Samuel C. Harris, 28, sophomore in mechanical engineering, was arrested on the following charges: battery, leaving the scene of an injury accident, driving while suspended, failure to render aid, and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. His bond is set at $2,000.

The pedestrian, who received minor injuries, was struck in the crosswalk on Claflin Road between Throckmorton Hall and Chalmers Hall.
