K-State Student Union offices, departments, organizations relocate

Submitted by Maggie Stephens

In preparation for the upcoming K-State Student Union renovation, several offices, departments and organizations in the Union will relocate.

During the week of Aug. 31, the Office of Student Activities and Services, or OSAS, and PowerCat Financial will relocate to the Cat's Pause Lounge on the second floor; the Student Attorney's Office will move to the Catering Manager's office on the second floor; and Union IT Services will relocate to 208 Union.

Phase one of construction will begin Sept. 8 and will include complete window and roof replacement, upgrades to the south entrance and southwest corner of the building, a new east elevator and renovation of the ground floor.

The K-State ID Center will move to Stateroom 3 on the first floor the week of Sept. 8. Commerce Bank will relocate to Stateroom 1 and 2 during the week of Sept. 14.

The K-State Campus Store will consolidate operations in its current location, but will remain open for business throughout construction. See store hours.

Access to the Union will change throughout the renovation process. Visit union.k-state.edu and k-state.edu/yourunion for building access updates.

Relocated offices, departments and organizations are listed below.

Student Governing Association, or SGA, has temporarily relocated to the Konza Room lobby on the second floor of the Union.

Union Human Resources has temporarily moved to the Party Room located in Wabash Cannon Bowl on the lower level of the Union.

The Veterans Center has temporarily relocated to the Bluemont Room located on the second floor of the Union.

The Wildcat 91.9 radio station has temporarily relocated to 312A McCain Auditorium.

K-State students approved the $25 million renovation project in spring 2013. The project will increase student organization meeting areas and student lounges, enhance retail and dining spaces and give the building a better overall flow. The Union will remain open during the renovation, although certain areas will be closed while under renovation. For more information, visit k-state.edu/yourunion or call 785-532-7202.
