By Kristina Boone

Jessie Topp, May 2015 master's degree graduate in agricultural education and communication, was awarded the Outstanding Research Proposal by the Association for Communication Excellence in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Life and Human Sciences Research Special Interest Group.

Topp's proposal was "The role of non-financial reporting in communicating sustainability throughout the food system supply chain" and was the basis for her master's thesis research. Jason Ellis, associate professor in the communications and agricultural education department, served as Topp's adviser. Topp is currently working in North Dakota as marketing manager for CMC, a grain handling storage solutions provider.
