K-State women: You are invited to Wednesday Brown Bag lunch series

K-State Women are invited to a biweekly Women's Wednesdays Brown Bag Lunch featuring discussions and questions and answers on topics of interest to women students, faculty and staff. The list of dates and topics is below. Each brown bag session is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program begins at 12:05 p.m.

The series begins tomorrow with a discussion on "What is the Women of K-State and how do I get involved?" Noel Schulz will be discussing the history of WoKS activities and events planned so far for the 2011-2012 school year.

Fall semester schedule:

Aug. 31: Flint Hills Room, Union - What is the Women of K-State? How do I get involved?

Sept. 14: Flint Hills Room, Union - Involvement in campus activities
What are different types of activities on campus and how do I get involved while balancing my academic activities?

Sept. 28: Flint Hills Room, Union - Financial Advice
What types of things should I worry about as a professional woman related to finances, retirement and more?

Oct. 12: Sunflower Room, Union - Meet your undergraduate women student leaders
Meet your undergraduate women student leaders, learn their priorities for representing you and discuss concerns and suggestions.

Oct. 26: Sunflower Room, Union - Women’s Health Issues
Join us as two doctors and representatives from Lafene Women's Health Clinic discuss issues related to women and health. We'll discuss health concerns, breast cancer, mammograms, reproductive health and more.

Nov. 9: Sunflower Room, Union - Meet your graduate women student leaders
Meet your graduate women student leaders, learn their priorities for representing you and discuss concerns and suggestions.

Nov. 30: Flint Hills Room, Union - Balancing your life through the holidays
December means exams, holidays, family and food. This panel will discuss dealing with the stress of the holidays and finding ways to cope with challenges.

Dec. 14: Flint Hills Room, Union - Preparing for Life’s Challenges
What types of legal and personal preparations should we make along the way related to wills, power of attorney for ourselves and aging family and medical power of attorney or living wills? Learn your choices so you can be prepared for the future.
