Manhattan sales tax increases to 8.75 percent July 1

Departments selling products or services should be aware that the effective sales tax rate for Manhattan will be 8.75 percent starting July 1. The new tax rate is because of the recent legislation that increased the state of Kansas sales and use tax rate from 6.15 percent to 6.5 percent.
