Management professor James Bloodgood named new College of Business Administration director of research

The Kansas State University College of Business Administration has selected professor of management James Bloodgood as its new director of research.

Bloodgood is an accomplished researcher and recognized academic leader for the college and the university. He will be charged with promoting the scholarly focus of the college, including chairing the college's research committee, providing opportunities to enhance and increase research activity among the faculty and leading efforts to support student research.

"I am excited to see how Jim will stimulate the college's research focus with faculty and students," said Ali Malekzadeh, Edgerley family dean for the college. "His efforts will build a stronger learning environment for our students while propelling the scholarly accomplishments of the college towards our K-State 2025 vision and goals."

Bloodgood holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University, an master's degree in manufacturing management from the GMI Engineering and Management Institute, and a doctorate in management from the University of South Carolina.

He has had numerous articles published in various academic journals, including the Journal of Management, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship, and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal. His focused areas of research are in knowledge management, organizational change, entrepreneurship, institutional theory, and firm competitiveness.
