Core network routers upgrade

Submitted by Audrey Hubbell

Network and Telecommunication Services will be performing cut overs to new routers from 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, to 2 a.m. March 18. During the maintenance both wired and wireless network connectivity will be affected on the Manhattan campus, as well as internet connectivity on the Salina and Olathe campuses.

K-State was awarded an NSF grant to enhance our core network infrastructure to support increasing demands from research initiatives and instructional technologies, This award provided the necessary funding to purchase a pair of high performance routers to replace the current core routers. The new routers allow us to increase the core bandwidth to 80Gb, and enough port density to support future 10GB upgrades between the core and campus buildings.

If you have any questions regarding this maintenance, please contact Audrey Hubbell at audreyh@ksu.edu or the Network Group at network@ksu.edu.
