Music education to host free professional development workshop

Submitted by Zachary Seckman

The K-State National Association for Music Education Collegiate chapter is hosting its second professional development workshop "The Culture of Music: How does music affects culture?" from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, in Kirmser Hall at McCain Auditorium.

Topics to include World Music Drumming, the Globalization of Music and more. The workshop is free for K-State students and a sub sandwich lunch will be provided for $5 per registrant.

Join us to learn about the culture of music and how it affects our culture. This interactive day of music will teach the different aspects of world views on music, how music has spread and how we can incorporate these aspects into all classrooms.

Our guest clinicians this year include Rachel Williams and Heidi Timmons from the Bonner Springs Public Schools, and Ruther Gurgel from the K-State School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.

Please email further questions to ksunafmec@gmail.com. Thank you to the K-State SGA for sponsoring our workshop this year.
