'Equally Prepared' financial workshop for LGBT community Feb. 25

Submitted by Human Capital Services Benefits

Human Capital Services, in conjunction with TIAA-CREF Financial Services, will present the financial workshop "Equally Prepared" for K-State's LGBT community.

All employees and their financial partners are welcome to attend. Join us from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Purple Pride Room at the K-State Alumni Center as we learn about the importance of saving, investing and how to help protect what you save — and those you love. Register today.

You have a responsibility to yourself — and those you love — to prepare for the future and protect what you've set aside. We're here to help you face your unique challenges on the road to financial well-being. TIAA-CREF's workshop leaders will share essential saving and investing strategies and ways to help safeguard your assets with an estate plan:

  • Learn how to determine your retirement readiness, and ways to help ensure your retirement planning and saving are on track.
  • Discover the importance of wills, trusts and living wills, and how state and federal laws — including changes resulting from the DOMA decision — may affect you.
  • Understand why everyone should consider estate planning.

Register by clicking this link provided, then under the heading "Upcoming Seminars" click "At your Workplace". Select Kansas as your state and Kansas State University as your employer. Select the Wednesday, Feb. 25, — Financial Planning for the LGBTQ community and register.
