Coulson to serve on consumer education foundation board

Ann Coulson, assistant professor of personal financial planning, has been appointed to a three-year term as the consumer representative to the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors Board where she also will serve on their Consumer Education Foundation Board.

She was selected because of her understanding of the current state of consumer financial competency and education, as well as her ability to guide collaborations and facilitate relationships with universities and other educational institutions, according to the association.

Her duties will including helping the association develop new strategies and approaches for reaching consumers and academia.

Since 2010, Colson has served as the Certified Financial Planners Board Registered Program Director for the undergraduate, master's degree and graduate certificate programs.

She teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in personal financial planning for the School of Family Studies and Human Services in the College of Human Ecology.
