Kansas State University Foundation: Calendar year-end donation processing

Kansas State University Foundation: Calendar year-end donation processing

The Kansas State University Foundation will strive to cash report and generate tax receipts for all gifts that have been received in the foundation cashier's office during December. If a gift is delivered to the cashier's office by Friday, Dec. 30, but cannot be processed, a note will be added to the gift receipt acknowledging that the gift was received by Dec. 31. Additionally, for the first few weeks in January 2012, the foundation will review all gifts that have a postmark of Dec. 31 or before. The gift receipt will have a note added which acknowledges that the gift was postmarked by Dec. 31.

Important:  For any contributions sent directly to your department/college during the first few weeks in January, please save the envelopes and paper-clip them to the check so foundation personnel can verify that the gift was postmarked by Dec. 31. Any checks received without envelopes will not receive a gift note even if the check is dated in December.

Credit card gifts:  Please note that donations made by credit card must be processed no later than Dec. 31. The gift must show up on the donor's credit card statement dated Dec. 31 or before. A credit card transaction cannot be back dated. For this reason, the foundation asks that donations, which are to be processed by use of a credit card, should be turned into the cashier’s office by noon Friday, Dec. 30.

Given the holidays, please submit all time-sensitive gifts by Dec. 16 to ensure it can be processed prior to Dec. 31.
