Konza Prairie Visitors' Day Saturday, Sept. 27

By Jill Haukos

Konza Prairie bison bull with the herd

Here's your chance to explore the Konza Prairie Biological Station beyond the front gates. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, we'll be hosting our biennial Visitors' Day.

During this time we open the site to the general public and offer a variety of activities, all free of charge. We'll have guided nature hikes, bus-driven bison loop tours and activities for the kids. The whole family is invited.

Come see the full beauty of the tallgrass prairie and learn about the ecological research occurring at Konza Prairie that will help scientists understand and manage the prairie for decades to come.

Visit Konza Environmental Education Program for more information or call Jill Haukos at 785-587-0381.
