Hazardous waste training course July 22

Submitted by Rosanna Vail

Don't miss out on registration for Kansas State University's eight-hour refresher course in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, or Hazwoper, training, on July 22 in 11 Edwards Hall.

The Hazwoper course is required for anyone working at treatment, storage and disposal facilities and at hazardous waste cleanup sites. The refresher course is designed for individuals who have already completed the 40-hour or 24-hour Hazwoper training and need to be requalified. Participants can include faculty and students working with hazardous substances in laboratory or field sites, as well as first responders or industry hazardous materials handlers.

The course covers OSHA safety elements and prepares individuals to navigate hazardous waste sites and to properly handle hazardous materials in laboratories. A certificate of completion will be provided to all attendees at the end of the training. Please view the program brochure for more information and for registration assistance, contact the K-State Global Campus at 785-532-5569.
