New oversize scanner in Media Development Center handles large items

Submitted by K-State IT editor

The Media Development Center has recently added an oversize scanner to the lab. The copy stand mount can accommodate artwork measuring up to 36 inches by 48 inches. Larger works measuring up to 5 feet by 7 feet can be mounted to the wall and digitized.

The new equipment can be used to scan and digitize large works including:

  • maps
  • artwork
  • blueprints
  • textiles
  • 3D models

This system captures 216 megapixels of data, 6,000 x 8,000 pixels of native CCD resolution, with no interpolation data, digital artifacts, or moiré patterns. The scanner is connected to a Eizo Color Edge monitor to ensure accurate color-calibration work.

For more information about the scanner, call 785-532-4921 to set up a consultation.
