K-State natural resources and environmental science secondary major students to present capstone research projects

Submitted by Shawn Hutchinson

Students in the natural resources and environmental science secondary major capstone course will present findings from semester-long research projects from 9:40-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the Little Theatre in the K-State Student Union.

Three projects will be discussed, including "Saving Energy by Behavioral Change," "Analysis of Heat Waves in Kansas" and "Recreation on the Levee System in Northeastern Kansas." Student work has been supervised this semester by faculty advisers Ben Champion, Office of Sustainability; Anandhi Swamy, agronomy; and Jim Steichen, biological and agricultural engineering.

The presentations are open to the general public. Undergraduate students interested in natural resources, environmental science and sustainability issues are especially encouraged to attend.
