He has been with Meeting Professionals International since 2006, with responsibility for strategic planning; global banking, operations, investments and accounting; and technology.

In his new position at the KSU Foundation, Lohrentz will have responsibility for the departments of accounting, compliance, human resources and information technology.

Lohrentz is originally from Hesston, Kan., and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from K-State in 1992. He earned Missouri certification as a certified public accountant in 1994. Lohrentz is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International. He is also a member of the K-State Alumni Association.

“Greg Lohrentz is an innovative leader with a proven record of success in strategic planning and organizational efficiency,” said Fred A. Cholick, president and CEO of the KSU Foundation. “We are pleased to welcome him back to K-State and look forward to the benefit his skills and experience will bring to the foundation.”

Bruce MacMillan, CEO of Meeting Professionals International, said,  “Greg has made significant contributions during his five years at MPI, designing and implementing reporting structures and operating platforms that have been instrumental in aligning the organization while also enhancing member value. While we are saddened at his departure, we are very happy for Greg and his family.”

“I am looking forward to working with and developing relationships with the board of directors, constituents in KSU athletics, administration and colleges, donors, the foundation team and our community,” said Lohrentz. “It’s crucial that we continue to build the organizational backbone through these relationships to support the vision of ‘One K-State.’ I am excited about coming home and getting started.”
