American Association of University Women nontraditional student scholarships for women; application deadline is April 1

The Manhattan Branch of the American Association of University Women has three $1,000 scholarships of $1,000 available for the 2014-2015 academic year. These scholarships are for nontraditional female students attending Kansas State University on the Manhattan, Salina or Olathe campuses. Applications are available at the branch website.

The applicant qualification criteria are:

1. Must be a bachelor's degree candidate enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester or graduate degree candidate enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours per semester or six credit hours per semester with a graduate assistantship.

2. Must have at least two complete semesters of credit remaining before graduation.

3. Must be returning to school after at least a three-year lapse in education. Applicants may have already entered or returned to college after this time lapse.

4. Must be a female student attending Kansas State University during the 2014-2015 academic year. Students taking courses solely through distance education do not qualify.

All materials for submittal — application, references and transcripts — must be postmarked by April 1. The Manhattan Branch K-State Scholarship Fund is an endowed fund of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.
