Learning and development is offering new training opportunities.

Title IX Training — WTD168: Title IX Training will be presented by Ameerah McBride, investigator/deputy Title IX coordinator of affirmative action, from 9-11 a.m. Monday, March 10, in the K-State Student Union, Room 226. Sexual harassment and assault on campus is a serious issue for all members of the K-State community. This training is designed for all students, faculty and staff and will focus on defining the university’s legal obligation to enforce Title IX regulations, review the complaint and investigation process, as well as provide information on prevention methods such as bystander intervention. 

Hazard Communication Training — WTD 162: Hazard Communication Training will be offered by environmental health and safety throughout the rest of the year to maintain compliance of the regulation concerning chemicals in the work place. Training for the Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Classification and Labeling must be provided to all employees who work with chemicals. These trainings are held in 011 Edwards Hall. Newly added training opportunities are:

  • 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11
  • 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9
  • 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1
  • 9 a.m. Monday, June 9
  • 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8

Mail Preparation — WTD035: Mail Preparation will be presented by Jay Henning from central mail services from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the K-State Student Union, Room 226. This class will give information on procedures of mailing letters, flats and parcels and the Central Mail Service policies and procedures. Additionally, there will be tips and pointers on how to effectively and efficiently prepare and market your mailings to save your department money.

Achieving Customer Service Excellence — WTD167: Achieving Customer Service Excellence will be presented by Shanna Legleiter, program manager in the Division of Human Resources. Customer service is an important workplace skill regardless of your position at K-State. In this session, participants will:

  • Determine how to know and understand your guests
  • Identify and define quality standards for your department
  • Establish a common customer service purpose that aligns with what you do
  • Identify important behavioral guidelines
  • Commit to an on-going customer service challenge

This training will be offered on:

  • 9 a.m. Thursday, March 27, in K-State Student Union, Room 226
  • 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 in Edwards Hall Commons Area
  • 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 in K-State Student Union, Room 226
