Noted plant breeder to speak Feb. 19 about breeding challenges in a changing climate

Nationally recognized plant breeder Charles Brummer will present the 30th annual Elmer G. Heyne Crop Science Lectureship at 4 p.m. Feb. 19 in 1014 Throckmorton Hall.

The title of the lecture is "Breeding Forage Crops in a Changing Climate." Refreshments will be available before the lecture at 3:30 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Brummer is the director of the forage improvement division at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation and conducts research on alfalfa and tall fescue breeding and genetics. In April, Brummer will move to the University of California, Davis as director of the Center for Plant Breeding.
