Register now for K-State's Spring 2014 Teaching Workshop

By Kim Williams

As the fall semester winds down, be sure to register for K-State's annual Spring Teaching Workshop from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and 9-11:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. The program for this year's event is designed to inspire teaching faculty and graduate students as the spring semester gets underway to "Actively Engage the Brain" in each of our students as we teach.

In addition to our local talent, two national speakers will be featured in the program: Jeannie Loeb, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, will speak about "The Brains Behind Teaching and Learning," and Jay Howard, Butler University, will help us develop skills to use discussion and active engagement to facilitate learning as he answers the question “Why Won’t Students Talk?”

A modest registration fee of $10 covers refreshment breaks and a hearty breakfast on Feb. 1, 2014.  No reason to delay, register now. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to energize your teaching and develop a new skill or two for use in your classroom.
