Plant pathologist provides invited viewpoint in Nature Climate Change
Karen Garrett, professor of plant pathology, was invited by Nature Climate Change, a physical and social sciences journal, to provide commentary on evidence for the global movement of agricultural pathogens and insect pests under climate change.
Studies of long-term changes in range across large geographic areas encounter challenges common to big data analyses, including the need to synthesize across data sources where there may be different types of sampling. Garrett’s lab develops system-level analyses of plant pathogens and other plant stressors, including strategies for adapting management to global change.
