Classified employee open forums are Nov. 4 and 15

By Gary Leitnaker

Classified employees at Kansas State University will be voting Nov. 19-21 to decide whether to move to university support staff from the state classified civil service. Prior to the vote, President Kirk Schulz will meet with classified employees in open forums at the Alumni Center Banquet Room at 9 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 4, and at 9 and 10 a.m. on Nov. 15. Because of the importance of this vote, if you are a supervisor, please allow your classified employees time to attend one of these meetings. If your classified employees are unable to attend in person, all meetings will be streamed live online. A link is available on the Alternative Service Committee's website.

Additionally, you may wish to review the draft employee handbook and white papers — also available at the website — which will be used should employees vote affirmatively to move to university support staff. If you have any questions or suggestions about the handbook and whitepapers, or questions about the upcoming open forums or vote, please contact Gary Leitnaker at geleit@k-state.edu or 785-532-6277 or the committee's website.
