Learn the keys to evaluation, promotion and tenure at the New Faculty Institute luncheon Nov. 8

Submitted by Esther Swilley

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning invites all new faculty to the New Faculty Institute luncheon on Friday, Nov. 8. Our salad lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Hemisphere Room of Hale Library.

Our theme, evaluation, promotion and tenure, will be highlighted by speakers Provost April Mason, and Associate Provost Ruth Dyer. Associate Professor Fred Burrack and Professor Kimberly Williams will also discuss their keys to success. This luncheon provides new and fairly new faculty the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to have a great future here at K-State.

The New Faculty Institute is a universitywide program to introduce newly hired faculty to our missions of teaching, research and service, and to facilitate their success at K-State. The institute will offer information, networking, training and peer mentoring. It facilitates the transition of newly-hired faculty members into the K-State academic environment by providing information and tools that can help them become successful as educators and researchers at Kansas State University. Each month the institute offers social luncheons filled with information, socializing and food. The institute is open to all faculty who started at K-State in 2012 or 2013.

For more information, contact Esther Swilley, New Faculty Institute coordinator at esthers@k-state.edu, or Jana Fallin, director, Center for Teaching and Learning, at 785-532-7828.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 5, by clicking here.
