Big XII TEACHING AND LEARNING CONFERENCE
Kansas State University proudly hosts the Third Annual BIG XII TEACHING AND LEARNING CONFERENCE June 2-3, 2016, in Manhattan, Kansas. Please join us as we explore Transformational Teaching and Learning, our theme for the conference. Sessions will be held in the Leadership Studies Building on the K-State campus. This two-day conference will bring together faculty, graduate students, instructional designers, educational technology leaders, and other higher education professionals interested in exploring the world of teaching and learning.
Our keynote speaker is Dr. Michael Wesch, "the prophet of an educational revolution" according to the Kansas City Star. Wired Magazine gave him the title "the explainer." Wesch is a recipient of the highly coveted "US Professor of the Year" Award from the Carnegie Foundation. His videos on culture, technology, education, and information have been viewed over 20 million times, and are frequently featured at international film festivals and major academic conferences worldwide.
Kansas State University head football coach Bill Snyder will join us Friday June 3 to share his wealth of teaching experiences. You will be surprised to learn that Coach Snyder first and foremost considers himself a teacher. His most recent accolade was his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Plan to arrive Wednesday evening as we have planned a BBQ dinner on the Konza Prairie, a 13-square mile tallgrass prairie ecosystem. Thursday evening is a celebration of teaching and dinner at the Flint Hills Discovery Center. Friday includes a tour of the picturesque Bill Snyder Family Stadium and the new Vanier Sports Complex.
The Third Annual BIG XII TEACHING AND LEARNING CONFERENCE will give you new ideas, new friends, and new strategies for creating enriched learning opportunities for your students. This is one event you will not want to miss. We are looking forward to your visit on June 2-3.
