Job Description: Bio: Jennifer joined the Communication Studies, Theatre and Dance faculty in August, 2011. Most recently Jennifer was an Assistant professor at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL where she directed productions at the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre, she developed several new plays, and taught Acting and Directing in the Acting/Musical Theatre conservatory program. Additionally she was contracted as a Communications Specialist at the University of Miami School of Law where she used acting techniques to teach third year law students communication skills for the courtroom.
Professional theatre credits include work with director Mark Lamos on the Broadway production of Cymbeline (Lincoln Center), The Blonde, The Brunette & The Vengeful Redhead (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Dallas Theater Center), Compleat Female Stage Beauty (Old Globe Theatres, San Diego), and Antony & Cleopatra (Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis). Jennifer has directed Medea (Circuit Playhouse, Memphis, TN), Quills (POTS @ The Works, Memphis), and Deathtrap (Monomoy Theatre, Cape Cod). She has directed several new play readings including the premiere production of The Motherline by Chantal Bilodeau at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2009. She will be directing Janet Allard's new play, Fashionistas which is headed for a New York production in the summer 2012. University productions include Big Love, Baby with the Bathwater, Hello, Dolly!, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Electra, Tintypes, Goodnight Desdemona, Good Morning Juliet, and A Doll’s House. Jennifer has performed as an actor and singer in New York, Chicago and as far away as China and Croatia. She performed in Connecticut Repertory Theatre’s production of My Fair Lady starring Broadway actors Terrance Mann, Timothy Gulan, and Eileen Fulton with choreography by Charlotte and Christopher D'Amboise. She was directed by Ed Gracyk in the 15th anniversary production of his award winning play Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean which starred Tina Louise. Jennifer is an Associate Member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and a member of Actors Equity Association as Jennifer Guindon.
