Costume Design

An emphasis in Costume Design and related areas (Construction, Crafts and Make-up) is available to all Theatre Majors and Minors. Students with an interest in the area of Costume Design enjoy a relaxed but challenging collaborative atmosphere in which to gain intellectual, technical and artistic skills. Course and production work are carefully integrated and monitored, allowing students to experience both theoretical and practical projects, and gain skills that will be necessary in their future career. Paid positions are available in the Costume Shop and all students with an interest in Costume Design are encouraged to apply for them. Design opportunities are available for advanced students showing dedication, maturity and talent.

Courses are offered at both lower and upper levels of Costume Design; other related classes that have been taught include Millinery, Patterning, Surface Design, Stage Make-up, Costume History and Rendering.
