Description
In has been discovered that a class of compounds markedly lowers the intestinal (lymphatic) and plasma levels of cholesterol. These findings were obtained using a rat model with lymph cannula under physiological conditions (not in cultured cells or other in-vitro systems). It is anticipated that the present compounds will have low side effects, and thus should serve as a safe alternative to synthetic hypocholesterolemic compounds.
